Tat Ming Pair (達明一派) is one of my favorites since 80s. In a conservative society, Tat Ming Pair stands out not only because of its music style but also their concern over the taboo topics such LGBT community, minority, freedom.
After 2014 when a major political movement happened in Hong Kong, Tat Ming Pair has been banned from performing in mainland. Even worse, the Pair gradually loses his sponsor abruptly in Hong Kong.
Without commercial support, the Pair is apparently frozen in these years, no new album, no performance, no concert at all!
In 2017, the first concert without commercial sponsorship of the Pair was held in Hong Kong. Celebrating the 31st anniversary of this group this remarkable moment means alot to them and to every Hong Kong people who share the same belief.
No one knows if this will be the last chance we see them on stage. I felt so complicated when I was there that night.
